Hooray! This is my 100th post so I decided to make a celebration Tinny!
I've had my eye on this pattern for ages and then when I'd finally decided to buy it An of Straightgrain was in the process of updating it. I eagerly watched all the teaser pics and bought it instantly when it came out. It did not disappoint!
This is the cap sleeve version with a full circle skirt and the Tomoka collar. I always love a cap sleeve, especially coming in to our Summer and this is a part of the bodice pattern piece so there's no need to set in a sleeve.
The collar is one of my favourite features. It's unlike any other collar I've seen and went together quite simply. There wasn't any notches or marks to show where to fold over but the pieces lined up where they were supposed to go and it didn't take much to figure it out.
This is quite a bold fabric choice for me and I love it. I'd looked at a few times in the shop and just one day knew it would be great for the Tinny. I made sure I cut it out straight away before I changed my mind and then it would sit on my shelf for ages!
Freya loved it! She's gotten very interested in the Wiggles, particularly Emma Wiggle so when she saw the twirly skirt she announced it was her Emma dress.
It's beautiful! Freya looks lovely in it as usual!
ReplyDeleteThanks , she knows how to turn on the charm! 😃
DeleteLovely combination and congratulations with your 100th post!
ReplyDeleteThan k you. I liked sewing with bolder colours for a bit of a change
DeleteVery nice! I love the tomoka collar as well :) Is "blue and green should never be seen" an Aussie proverb? I used to think that blue and green never looked nice together, but I'm coming around... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm not sure if it's an Aussie saying but I think the saying goes 'blue and green should never be seen unless there's a colour in between' I think it totally depends on the shade of blue and green though :)
DeleteIt's such a cute dress on such a cute girl!
