Making a mostly white dress for a 3 year old may not be the most practical thing I've ever made but I still love it!
I'd had this fabric on my radar for a while now and after making one version of the Jaanu dress I knew it would look lovely for the fuller-skirt Norah version. It's from a Dennyse Schmidt line and has a really lovely vintage feel.
The pattern all went together nicely just like the other versions made. The length and fit is great. I also got the zip and back bodice lined it perfectly first time, but then noticed the print was ever so slightly off. Grr! It matched nicely on the side seams though.
The pleats and fuller skirt has a beautiful shape and the dress was perfect for the taste of nice weather we've had this weekend. I know I will definitely be making another one of these dresses, maybe in a bit more of a practical colour next time...
The dress is lovely and I share your joy on finding the shoes!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and its funny to be so happy about finding shoes, but it can be very difficult to find ones that fit! Hopefully blue will go with everything...
DeleteOh, this is one of my favorite jaanu's
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, you're very kind!
DeleteWhite-ish colors are just too cute on little kids, especially on yours! I love this Jaanu!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Luckily she's a bit of a neat freak so it will hopefully be ok for a while...
