Class Picnic Top

At the beginning of last year I made one of these tops and I'm glad I've finally got around to making another one.

This is the Class Picnic Top by Oliver and S.  Like most of their patterns the instructions were thorough and easy to follow. I really love how the parts in the pattern just go together so nicely.  I tried to explain to my non-sewing husband how great it was that everything lined up just so, but all I got was a bit of a blank stare...

The fabric is from the Cloud Nine Wildwood line.  I really did go to town when I saw that at Spotlight and still have more in the stash.  I think it suits this pattern beautifully.  The last one I made was also in a quite small florally print and it was one of my favorites.  I chose another white based fabric, which probably isn't the wisest move with a toddler but it looked so cute!

I was going to pair it with pants, and I probably will, but I'm trying out the whole shorts with tights look with this top.  I'm still on the fence with this trend so we'll see.  The fit is a little big, especially around her neck and shoulders but I'd much rather that than something she'll grow out of very quickly.

All in all I'm really pleased how this turned out and I'm sure she'll get lots of wear out of it, just like the last one.
